Power Rangers Megaforce Episode 9 - Prince Takes Knight Review
Now this is how you write a Power Rangers Episode!
I liked that we finally have Troy tell the team that he is having those dream (however he doesn’t tell them about the other rangers involved). I like seeing newly filmed footage of the interior of the Warstar Spaceship and Vrak in both his forms. Vrak had a compitant plan and the monster was smart with his plan of draining electricity to increase his power. I really liked seeing the rangers in the Command Center two episodes in a row and Tensou and Gosei actually doing something to help. The unmorphed fight scenes was really cool even though it was a bit lacking.
Now for the things I found a bit confusing. The monster (Psychotick), was he apart of the Toxic Beast or the Warstar cause I know he belongs to the Yuumajuu in Goseiger. If they have a set built for the Warstar spacship (which in my opinion looks a lot nicer than the Japanese footage) why don’t they make new footage with Bluefur and Bigs in it. Also, where were Bluefur and Bigs in this episode? I think that they could’ve helped a great deal.
Overall I give this episode a 5/5, I really liked this episode. There were little to no one-liners during fight scenes and when there were some, they didn’t make me want to rip my hair out. To no surprise to anyone, this episode was co-written David McDermott who wrote He Blasted Me With Science to which in my opinion was the best written episode so far in the season before this one. Saban needs to make this guy head writer cause his episodes are well-written and makes power rangers feel like a show that takes itself seriously.
