5. Power Rangers Jungle Fury - Hamhock
While Jungle Fury has some interesting animal monster motifs, this one does not fit that mold. Let's start with his weapon of choice, a string of sausage links. Ok? What did he do to himself or another pig to forge that weapon? Also, the black tight things covering his legs kind of creep me out.
4. Power Rangers Dino Thunder - Ka-Ching
There is no surprise that this monster was used as in the sentai parody episode of power rangers. This monster just felt like an odd combination of stuff. A bear, mushroom, and ATM combo? Also, this monster just felt like it was too busy and his master plan of making people greedy with the power of multi-colored wigs? Lame!
3. Power Ranger SPD - Bugglesworth
I think that the only reason for Mora creating monsters through drawing was to solely explain the design for this certain monster. The first time I saw this monster, I had no idea what he was suppose to be based after. He had a small bird-like head, octopus tentacles, and Mora called him a ladybug. Overall, even though this monster was pretty weird, I did enjoy the two-parter he was apart of.
2. Power Rangers Turbo - Mouthpiece
Out of all the creepy and weird monster designs in Turbo, this one takes the cake. First, let's talk about the design. Parking meter ear, pig face, and a party hat. Random much? Also, his plan was a bit of a corny one, make Justin constantly lie? UGH!
1. Power Ranger RPM - Balloon Bot
Even though this monster was used for a ten second zord fight, the design alone will stay in you mind and make you asks the question, WHY? I know that Go-onger had crazy monster designs but there were other monsters they could've used for a ten second zord fight. I was not surprised to see that General Crunch created this monster and his goofiness shows in this monster design.
5. Power Rangers Dino Thunder - It's a Mad Mad Mackerel
For a season that took itself seriously for the most part, this episode in particular broke that mold. The main plot of this episode is that Kira get's an internship at the local TV station and works on a television show called The Funky Fisherman Show. The episode goes on with showing the cast of the show starting with The Funky Fisherman who pretty much has an ego the size of his boots and Marty The Mackerel who takes to staying in character way too seriously. The plot ensues with Marty turning into the monster-of-the-week and Funky getting stuck in a tv monitor. Overall, even though this episode is a bit on the goofy side and Dino Thunder tended to stay away from that, (after the season before which was 90 percent camp) I really enjoyed this episode. It's kind of a guilty pleasure of mine.
4. Power Rangers Zeo - Another Song and Dance
An episode that was more annoying than weird. Another Song and Dance has Tommy and Tanya fall under a spell by Machina (which is kind of weird considering The Machine Empire tended to use technology over magic) that causes them both to sing every word that comes out of their mouths. To top that off, the monster-of-the-week while in the giant fight causes the Zord to start dancing uncontrollably. I'll admit that the fight scenes between the rangers and Gasket and Archerina were really cool but the non-stop singing between these two will give you a headache.
3. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Rocky Just Wants to Have Fun
A weird episode on all accounts. Lord Zedd's master plan in this episode is to make Rocky addicted to having fun. Continuing this plot, we get a monster created from the game that made Rocky a game addict and turns all the Rangers into Pachinko balls. Not counting the epicness of seeing Serpentara in action (even though it is stock footage from The Power Transfer) this episode goes down as one of the cheesiest episodes in MMPR.
2. Power Rangers Ninja Storm - Pork Chopped
Speaking of cheese, let's talk about Power Rangers Ninja Storm. This episode plot centers around Tori using her ninja powers for personal gain (which is a big no-no in the Power Rangers Rulebook) to go from a movie date with Blake to one of Shane's hundred Skateboard Competitions (seriously he's in one like every other episode). Go to General Trayf (yes this monster is a General) who traps Blake and Hunter in a tub of popcorn. After they use their thunder ninja powers to escape their tub prison, we get to see a Kelzak fight with the two covered in Artificial Butter Flavoring. Overall, As I may think that Ninja Storm could be a bit on the campy side, this episode takes that campiness to another level. However, there is another episode on this list that take campiness to a whole new level.
1. Power Rangers Turbo - Trouble by the Slice
Behold, the Power Rangers episode that takes a corny sentai plot and takes it to a whole new level. This episode starts off with Divatox losing her memory and ends up working at a Pizza Parlor (a foreshadow to Jungle Fury perhap? There's even a Fran look-alike). Eventually Divatox regains her memory(after some slapsticky moments between her and the other villains) and sends Mad Mike the Pizza Monster to battle the rangers. Mad Mike does what no other monster has done before him has done, COOK THE RANGERS INTO A GIANT PIZZA. Seriously? There's even a moment where Mad Mike uses pizza's to turn Storm Blaster and Lightning Cruiser evil. Overall, as much as this episode is as cheezy (no pun intended) as a power rangers episode could be, I can't hate it. It's kind of an episode that is so bad that it's good in some sort of way.
